The One Big Beautiful Bill and What It Means for Firearms Owners
The passage of H.R.1, better known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” is a major win for firearms owners. Especially those interested in getting into suppressors or short‑barreled rifles and shotguns. While we at Bauer Precision would’ve preferred the original version of the bill that removed suppressors and SBRs from the NFA entirely, what passed is still the most significant step toward deregulation we’ve seen in a long time.

NFA Reform Dropped: [OUTDATED SEE UPDATE]
Congress just handed NFA reform a major setback: the Senate parliamentarian removed critical Hearing Protection Act (HPA) and SHORT Act provisions from the famed “Big Beautiful Bill” under the Byrd Rule. This means suppressors, SBRs, and AOWs are not being deregulated or tax‐stamp exempted—at least for now.
