Springfield Armory 7.62mm M1A Select Fire Battle Rifle - Fully Transferable Machine Gun

The M14 rifle evolved from efforts to improve the M1 Garand, incorporating automatic fire and a detachable box magazine. Initial post–WWII experiments included the T20, a modified M1, and later the T25, designed by Earle Harvey for the new T65 cartridge—an early version of the 7.62×51mm NATO round. The T25’s evolution into the T47 was followed by the development of the T44, a more conventional design created by modifying T20E2 receivers for the 7.62mm round. Springfield Armory led these developments, with Lloyd Corbett contributing refinements like a bolt roller and simplified operating rod. These advancements ultimately led to the standard-issue M14.

This Springfield M1A-A1 Select Fire Battle Rifle is a rare, fully transferable Class III machine gun, modeled on the legendary M14 and produced in extremely limited numbers. Closely resembling the original military M14 in both form and function, this select-fire M1A features proper M14 select fire hardware, match-style sights, and an original Springfield selector switch, distinguishing it from standard semi-auto variants.
