Drawing on over a decade of real-world operational feedback and military deployments in extreme global environments, the SIG516 Generation 3 combines a battle-proven short-stroke piston operating system with an adjustable gas regulator. Designed to keep carbon fouling and heat out of the receiver, this clean-running system allows operators to easily tune gas flow for varied suppressor use, harsh conditions, or light-velocity practice ammunition without sacrificing mechanical cycling reliability.

Built around a 16-inch cold hammer-forged steel barrel with a 1:7" twist rate and a 1/2x28 Taper-Lok threaded muzzle, the SIG516 G3 incorporates steel-reinforced high-wear inserts along the receiver cam path and feed ramps to guarantee extended service life. The rifle features an intuitive dual-charging system with both rear and side non-reciprocating charging handles, full ambidextrous controls (bolt catch, magazine release, safety selector, and charging handle), a SIG Matchlite DUO curved trigger, a free-floating M-LOK alloy handguard, and a 6-position Magpul DT stock.
