When At Area 419 set out to create the perfect scope mount, the goals were clear: to produce something reliable and consistent at a degree unmatched anywhere else on the market. This journey led At Area 419 down a rabbit-hole, ultimately developing a process that results in final-bore matched rings with raw aluminum internals, providing a grip on optics that is more reliable, true, and robust—while avoiding unnecessary weight.

Like most mounts, these begin as separate parts. At Area 419 manufactures the bases and caps in batches. While others may simply make these parts, send them to anodize, and then assemble them, At Area 419 incorporates extra steps into the process. Once these parts return from anodize, they are fully assembled, placed back into specially designed rail fixtures, with the caps torqued to spec over custom spacers (to ensure the rings properly torque down on the optic), and final-bored as sets using world-class machining centers. Mounts are then removed from the machine in sets, undergo quality control checks, and are packaged to ensure customers receive a mount finished to perfection.

Is it overkill? Probably. But At Area 419 believes this is the right way—and that’s exactly how it’s done.
