Description
The Smith & Wesson Model 76 is a fully transferable Class III/NFA machine gun developed in the late 1960s to provide American special forces with a lightweight and compact 9mm submachine gun. It was designed to replace the Carl Gustaf M45 "Swedish K" SMG after Sweden halted exports due to its neutrality in the Vietnam War. Featuring a tubular receiver, fixed blade and peep sights, and an ambidextrous "FULL/SEMI/SAFE" selector switch, the Model 76 offers reliability and ease of use. Equipped with a smooth pistol grip and a side-folding buttstock with a rubberized cover, it provides enhanced handling in various combat scenarios.
While the magazine is absent, the firearm retains its authentic configuration, making it a sought-after collectible. Due to state-level restrictions, this firearm is prohibited for sale or transfer to residents of certain states—potential buyers should verify local regulations before proceeding.
Features:
- Compact and Lightweight Design – Ideal for specialized military operations.
- Ambidextrous Fire Selector – Allows switching between full-auto, semi-auto, and safe modes.
- Side-Folding Metal Buttstock – Provides enhanced stability and compact storage.
- Fixed Blade and Peep Sights – Ensures reliable aiming in varied conditions.
- Historical Significance – Designed to fill a gap left by the discontinued Swedish K SMG.
- Curios or Relic (C&R) Classification – Recognized under BATFE regulations.
