Ammo Recommendation: Orthos recommends any brand ammo with 1250 FPS or higher. This is still considered light target ammo but ensures consistent cycling performance.

Break-In Period: For optimal operation, Orthos recommends firing 50 rounds of high brass heavy loads (1300 FPS or higher) during the break-in period. The shotgun ships with factory manufacturing oil, not a true gun oil, so it’s advisable to clean the SMX and apply a reputable gun oil before use. The break-in process ensures smooth performance and compatibility with a wide range of loads, from light to heavy.
