Imagined and developed by Q, the 8.6 BLK is the big brother to the 300 Blackout, which was designed primarily for suppressed shooting. Q claims the 8.6 Blackout revolutionizes the concept of "energy on target." Utilizing a rapid 1:3 twist rate, significantly faster than the common 1:7 and 1:8 twists for calibers like the 5.56 NATO or 300 BLK, this 16" barrel rifle is designed around the 8.6 BLK and weighs in at 2Lbs , making it an ultra-lightweight choice without sacrificing power. Its unique lightweight profile is paired with a stainless steel construction and stylish black accents, providing a sleek and modern aesthetic.

The 8.6 BLK leverages a 338 Subsonic Load based around the 300 grain Sierra Match King, similar to the 338 Federal. Its case has been shortened to work reliably with gas guns without needing modification to the mags. This low-pressure cartridge uses standard 308 magazines and a shortened 6.5 Creedmoor case, allowing for both subsonic and high BC projectiles.

The Fix by Q boasts a fully adjustable folding stock, detachable AR-10/SR25 pattern box magazines, and a full length 1913 rail for optics and accessories. Its preinstalled muzzle device over M18 x 1.5 threads ensures out-of-the-box compatibility with The PorQ Chop & Short Chop 8.6 Silencers by Q.
